Pastor Dave Shores Bio

Pastor Dave’s calling is to teach and guide this congregation of God’s people in a certain kind of life—the Kingdom-life.  This means life with God thru Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit.  We learn this life as Christ’s disciples, we live it in fellowship with Him and each other; it’s a life of love in which we look at “things above” and look for the return of the King.  As we grow in this life, we become increasingly committed to advancing God’s reign and righteousness, and increasingly free to love Him fully and love our neighbors as ourselves. 

Pastor Dave fulfills this calling by using the gifts God has given him—pastor-teacher, mercy and exhortation--in dependence on God’s grace.  He’s married to Janet, his God-given complement and partner in life and ministry.  They are on the road Home together, and invite you to join them (and us, the church) on the journey.  Dave and Janet have four grown children and six grandchildren.  They have made Toccoa their home since May, 2009.
